Please someone show one in wear. If Klietmann is correct, it was signed into existence on Nov '44. As the Kurland CT was signed late in the war and created, this could conceivably have been created. But conceivably is one thing and a photo in wear is quite another. Without photos it's unfortunately just another Balloon Badge.

This is one of the badges you've to reject.......outoff your mind this means..
No evidence till now..
BUT..,with a joint and a few glasses of whisky a badge like this really starts to live... in my case..., some people don't need anything at all to make it a keeper !
I'm kidding...,'cause I don't believe in miracles..
Seen them Pfleuger & Voss marked as well ,unfortunately as far as I know this firm didn't make badges..., some people though think they did..

Interesting
The letter says (roughly translated) 'out of concern to conserve paper[papiersparnis - a word I've never heard of - anybody here with EXCELLENT GErman language knowledge?], no Urkunde will be produced'. But we've all seen Urkunden, for all manner of items, produced up to and AFTER the wars end.
Just a thought.

Lw Pab
I´m having a slow evening, so just for kicks, some images of the above
discussed object. Have no fear, I know it´s post-war piece. But still,
with another catch and no L/58, it´s an interesting piece. I believe it´s
an early post-war Souval. Even the green verdigris is there.

My piece appears to be DIE STRUCT, not casted. Souval was NOT known for adding NEW hard die cast items after the war. They pumped out a ton of casted copies after the war, but this badge was NOT one of them.
Others must have one of these. There must be a few others around. I can't wait until another one pops up and someone points it out as a period piece. Because of published period photos of the award, though not on uniforms of actual soldiers, and soldbuchs, the piece MUST have existed. There are a few, not many but some are out there.Last edited by mott5ranch; 11-17-2004, 04:53 PM.
