    Glider pilot cloth badge

    Hello,

    please i need help with this glider pilot cloth badge. Is it a good one or a fake?

      The attached photo is the only version of the machine embroidered Glider Pilot Badge I believe to be original. It is of the same pattern illustrated in Detlev Niemann's Price Guide.

          Hello Jos,

          It sure looks original to me, and is the same as Detlev Niemann believes. Perhaps it was listed as a copy in error. I know I have bought original badges marked as copies over both the auctions and at shows.

          There are minor differences in the embroiudery details (feet and tail easily seen), but the flaw on the wreath is also on the one listed as a fake, that you illustrated.

            Well Bob, the one I've posted is of a serie of definately fake cloth badges..
            The guy has pilot, observer, RO/AG etc, etc..
            He lists them as fakes, because they're fake ( that's a good thing) and I think he doesn't makes mistakes..
            10-15 years ago these cloth flightbadges went for no more than $30 here in Europe, but we spoiled it and now the fakers are on them and some are pretty good and sold as originals.., pitty, but reality..
