Recently directly Family aquired from the son from Pilot Walter Weigle.
One really impressive Bomber Pilot with a carrer starting around 1938 till 1945 and as a war surviver. He was shot 3 times down, 3 times survived with the whole crew. No GC or KC winner but receipient of the LW Pokal (goblet). All emergency landings happened always close at the British channel with flights from an to Coventry. On his birthday 8.May he was in the air over Poland and shot a plane. He got flights over France, Russia and Poland. He received the capitualtion message 45 in the air and was flying west as long he could and was then landing in Danmark. POW, and was resigned for mine work from the POW. His flight training started by Straehle in Schorndorf and went futher to Boeblingen till he was drawn in for the LW.
The goggles are actually american but came out from his estate.
