    Dear all,

Here is a mint example (check out the untouched original finish, silvery tone highlights mixed with dark grey in recesses) with "regular" maker mark, a quite specific eagle and clearly visible and detailed rivets on the gun. Acquired from Detlev.

          Hi Guys,

This is getting more interesting with every badge posted. Untill now we have 4 badges and they are all different. Toby and Frank show and example with the left rivets in the obverse design, same eagle but different m.m. John and my badge show the other obverse design but with different eagles.

Who owns a Juncker luft flak with an eagle like John, or maybe an unmarked badge, that would even increase the possible number of variants?

I'm going to make this a little more complicated.

My badge clearly has a different wreath, the vains in the leaves are fatter than on the other badges. Also the underlying leaves ar less visible. Look at the last leaf almost touching the gunbarrel to the right, the underlying leaves are almost completely gone in that area.

Heres a heavily worn, but vet family obtained example.

Catch has been repaired. With rivets and standard MM.

                Thanks Skipy,

...........and with "standard eagle", I'll call it standard since the layout with the big inner feathers seems to be the more common.

Come on guys, I can't image that only 5 of us own a buntmetal Juncker Luftflak. Where are the others?

                  Ok, since your asking...

I have one,(Berlin SW on the address and buntmetall ) seems to be like John's and Philippe's. One thing I also notice is the slight twist to the arms of the swaz almost as if i was slightly damaged when removed from the die.

                    Hi Rich,

That realy looks like a very mint example. Am I correct in assuming that yours also has the longer inner feathers on the right wing like all the others except John's?

                      Rich

I've noticed that mine, also has a slight twist to the swastika. It however carries the SW68 mark.

                      All the best,
                      Toby.

                        Philippe,
actually no, mine has an identical eagle to John's. I'd say mine is a closer match, almost near identical to John's, now that I compare them with the badge in my hand.

                          Thanks Rich,

If you could manage I realy would love to see a better picture of the eagle.

When you guys talk about the twist in the swas do you refer to the little distortion visible on one or more of the swas arms. I just looked at all the badges again and can recognize this distortion on almost every badge but strangly enough on different positions

Toby badge : left and lower arm
                          Skip's badge : lower arm
                          Rich's badge : right arm
                          Frank's badge : left arm
                          My badge : lower arm

                          Strange isn't it.

Hi Philippe, have a look at Mike Pinkus's site, It may give a little insight into the various patterns.. It would seem that mine, which seems to be the same as the one shown on Mike's site, is an "uncommon" 2nd pattern as It has the same wing detailing etc..

                              Thanks for the tip John

Before starting this thread I looked at Mike's site but only focussed on the rivets and not on the wings so I guess I missed that information.

Mike if your around would you be so kind to give us some explanation on your classification in 2 patterns. Do you link these pattern to a production time frame?
