The catch kind of bothers me, but the rest looks good IMO.

This is more what I expected to see. Anyone else?

I think it's fine, catch and all. Here's a catch similar to the one pictured found on a bunt BSW Pilots Badge that I have archived.

            Hi Eric!

Thanks, yes, it was the only thing that I found a bit out of what I considered textbook. Overall, I think it's a nice looking badge and BSW paras are not common in any condition.

              Hi Tim,

I am suspicious of the small details, too.

              Regards,
              Mark

Thanks all for your input. I really thought this was a good badge but I guess I was wrong. I am still learning. It just goes to show you even when you buy from a dealer thats been in the business for 40yrs you can still get took. Is there a book out that will show what real badges will look like exactly?

                Thanks,
                Tony

Okay, I guess I missed something here. Tony, what changed your mind on it?

                    Hi Tim,

I really dont know much about these badges and know there are a ton of fakes out there. I am not sure what small details mark is talking about but I thought this badge was dead on correct. I know the fakes are getting better as we speak but thought it was still pretty easy to tell a fake from an original. Not by me mind you but I know there are people on here that can tell by one look. I know my pics are not the best though. The badge weighs 35.4grams. Here are a couple more pics. It just puts doubt in your mind when the experts arent sure. This is a tough hobby and fakes are a big part of it now. I still fell good about the badge just because of where it came from. I really do appreciate all your input guys and know its tough to tell anything by pictures alone.

                        Hi Tony,

Well, I trust Mark Miller's opinions 99.9999%, so maybe he sees/knows something on this one that I just don't see yet.

I'll post some PICS of mine and you can compare with your badge in hand. I still have concerns on the catch, but there may have been other accepted styles as Eric pointed out earlier.

I'll follow this one to see and learn on too!

                              Tony,

Don't get overly concerned on the cuts between the tail feathers as they were all hand finished and will show slight differences.

Do check the maker's mark closely.
