    Honor goblet on estand

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=286375

Is this a good one? Also did this not sell one week ago for $4100 (less than one half the price) on The Collector's Guild site? If so, that is quite a mark up for one week.

Looks right to me, Bill. Not sure if it was on the eStand before or not.

Thank you George. I am not very familiar with goblets, but it looks identical to this one from Collector's Guild which sold for $4100 literally one week ago. Here is the link. I am glad it is a good one, as someone will be paying a $4400 premium over one week ago.

          $8100 ???

SURELY ... the seller meant $5200

Oh well ... it'll be sitting there for a while .......... regardless of whether the currency is mixed up or not.

It is a very large finder's fee. It is too bad that it did not go to a collector at the original price.

              Hi,

If this was originally sold at $4100 it was a "steal" for an attributed RK recipient's goblet. RK gobets sell for about $8K - $10K depending on the individual, unit etc. "Run of the mill" goblets are selling for mid $3K to $5K.

It did sell for $4100. I am a little suprised that a collector would turn the goblet in one week for a profit in excess of 100%.

Good original goblet. It isn't everyday that a goblet attributed to a KC holder is on the market.

unfortunately I had to let go this KC goblet . Just after I bought the goblet I won the auction for the great Miksch DKiG grouping . After that I was able to buy the rest of the DKiG grouping (awards + docs). Now I am also in for the KG53 bomber grouping from the same seller. I hope to get this as well. So I have no money left to hold this one as my collectionfield are cased medals.

In another tread I have read about the values of KC goblets as Gary mentioned. And as Pierre stated, you dont see those KC goblets to often. So please discuss the goblet and not the price. Its for sale.

                      Thanks.

I think that the price is an issue if it was bought and sold within one week. Turning an award for a 100% plus profit in one week is probably not in the best spirit of the collecting community. Everyone has the right to buy and sell what they want. But doesn't it seem a bit strange to make a $4,000 plus profit in one week at the expense of another collector?

The Goblet Is A Fine Piece. It Is Very Rare That A Find Can Be Had At The Collector's Guild. I Do Not Even Care The Reason It Is Now Being Sold. If One Can Make A Quick Profit Due To The Lack Of Research Of Another Collector, So Be It. Guys, The Word
" Profit " Is Not A Dirty Word. It Is The Factor In Collecting That Helps Us All Grow Our Collections.

I personally don't see anything "wrong" with discussing a 100% "flip" profit.

It's just like the GWL PO badges jumping from 2500 to almost 6K with no reason...
It's just a matter of trying ... and ruining..
