      Wow, it works!

      OK, the front.

Under magnification, these seem to be made with Juncker parts.
I have a nice Juncker also, but I think ol' Wilhelm did even better
      work.

        Hi Tim,

what you say about the hinge and pin is not wrong, is interesting, as is interesting for me from long time of how many types has used Deumer in airgunner badges.

for example I have a airgunner in tombak - so early time - with totally another hinge and catch, you can see in the follow pics. No problems about its originality ( not only for where I found it but for the material used - clear tombak - for the rivets as must to be for a Deumer , for the eagle and wreath ....) but look the catch!! , strange ehh!. Deumer firm I think was a little bit crazy in made these kind of badges!

I am confident the first badge is an original one , even if the blitz were cut different from mine and the rivets are not as must to be, but eagle and wreath look right.

              Hello Fellows

Here is the reverse of my Air Gunner Badge. Front and reverse are similar to Tim's example. Hinge, pin and catch are similar too. This example in my collection is one of my favorites.

              Cheers

                It sold...

                Hi All,
Just as a final note to all of this - thanks for the input everyone as I was uncertain of this one because the only Deumer type LW Gunner/Mech badges I have seen (and also own) are of the type with the plate attached hinge/clasp in zinc. I have attached a pick of my example below.

The badge that started off this thread sold on eBay.au (swastika and all) for AUD$307 - or otherwise about US$210. I missed out owing to simply falling asleep a couple of hours prior to the auction's end and the badge had no bids in its last 12 hours.

I had heard of and seen LW Gunner/Wireless Op badges "cut down" to make LW Gunner/Mech badges, but that simply didn't occur to me with the one that I started this thread with. Based on the responses to this thread I think I missed out on a nice companion to my current badge and at a price that could perhaps be considered a "bargain".

Thanks again for everyone's input on this one - even if I did miss out on the badge itself!!!

Anyway... may as well show off my current example as it is one of my favourite LW badges in my collection!
