    Opinion on Luft Clasps

Can any of you Luftwaffe collectors offer an opinion on the Luft Clasps being offered here: http://www.forthehunt.com/auction/Vi...p?Item=9619113
    Thank you!

Both clasps look good to me George.

Although I cant see the hook I would expect it to be from flat stock material on a round base, (like on his GCB)

    Thinking of buying it?

as a side note, there are a hell of a lot of copied Osang Flying Clasps around and they are very good. These ones look like originals IMO

In relation to what Skip say's about a lot of very good fake Osang flight clasps being around at present, I have heard from a couple of sources that recently many flight clasps (2 or 3 different types - both complete and incomplete), flag pole tops, and various badge and insignia parts have been found at the site of an old factory in Germany.
I know these kind of stories pop up from time to time, some true, some untrue, some partly true but I heard this from two entirely unrelated sources and to me it sounded plausable.
Anyone out there in Germany heard anything or knows this to be a current hoax?
Australia is a hell of long way from Europe!

          Hi, Luft62 in down under!

Here is the story you mention about! It was written by a member of the Sigmund Stephan family (www.stephan.de)! They sell all kind of military and other equipment since the last 25 years here in Germany. I don´t know, if this story is right, but it was written in an other forum from this seller family themself! They offered at that time several flight clasps in near mint condition, so that other customers ask if such a stock can be real!

Sorry, I´m not able to translate it correct in english within a short time, perhaps an other friendly guy will do this for you.

Here the little story from Mr. Stephan:

          Cheers

          Gerd

            Hello George,

The clasps look original to me typical Osang, no issues.

Nice grouping, can't comment on the RK, not my main area of focus.

Thier are alot of really good fake everything out thier. The clasps are tricky at first, once you get the feel for the construction method, and differences in the evolution of the metals and finishes they are not all that hard IMHO. In the cases that I am unsure I just do not buy.

            Best Regards,
            JD
