Is this an early Luftwaffe insignia as I was told? Is this considered a rare find ? Please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance!

This is the cap badge of the DLV ( Deutsche Luftsport-Verband )
the forerunner of the Luftwaffe, made by Berg and Nolte, Lüdenscheid..

While not considered 'rare' , it is a scarce piece of early flying insignia from the early days of the Third Reich..
