And now for the controversial PM!
The badge is zinc so it has the hinge on a raised block. The pin is applied to a disc and attached to the wreath. On the front of the badge, the wreath seems PM characteristic.
The eagle has two talons which is not what Neimann's Buntmetal original showed. I am aware that Authentic Militaria shows a two clawed version in the 'reproduction' section. My example varies greatly, however, in other regards from the 'reproduction' PM.
If the two claws is a sign of a repro PM, why don't we see more of them. Most of the repro PMs actually have three claws.
Is is possible that this two clawed bird was the result of a 'crapped up' and repaired die?
I think my badge exhibits too many good traits to be bogus. I hope!!!
Frank, Skip, Lorenzo, Francois, Jacques, Yuri, Calvert, Gene...Detlev......what say the jury!
Thanks,
Mark
