    So I think I may say that we cannot see this case as an unaltered one for the Air Crew badge.

    Hi Pieter:

    You are 100% correct that the case is an original Air Crew case ALTERED to fit the wearing copy (IMIT version) of the Pilot Observer's Badge with Diamonds. It is also an old alteration. I think a collector friend of yours has the case now from my information. I never knew of an original period case for the IMIT version, only the post war white "Ken Lane" specials of the 1960's.
