                Hello,

                Otto Meichssner can be found with the following dates :

                * EP (Honour goblet) : date - 19.10.1942 - earned it as a Staffelkapitän

                * DKiG (German cross in Gold) : date - 23.01.1943 - earned it as Hauptmann, unit he served with at that time: 9.(Eis)/Kampf-Geschwader 3

                IMHO and based upon the pictures this is a nice Alpacka example with a history that can be researched.

                Cordial greetings,

                  How often are these faked? I have heard these are not faked all that much and that the fakes are genearlly quite terrible and easy to notice. Is that true??

                    Hello,

                    I´ve never seen a very good or nearly dangerous fake. I think the fakes that had hit the market are always easy to examine.

                    I hope that I´m right ....

                        Very nice one. Exactly the right patina and not shiny as they are too often seen. Congratulations for your buying.

                          Martin, nice original Alpaka Pokal!

                          Some day I'll get one of these!! Any spares out there in silver?

                          Here is what a fake looks like. Some poor sap got skinned for 700 E/900 USD, too!

                          Lorenzo/Moderator, can you post these photos in the reproduction section? I didn't see a Pokal chapter and only you can create one.

                          Cheers

                            That's actually not such a bad fake really, I'd buy it (albeit not for 700 Euros) for my collection, since I don't think I could afford a real one........
