JMME Pilot Badge or is it IMME?

Its a drizzling overcast day in Virginia so a good time to catch up on photographing the collection. Here is a cased JMME Pilot badge for consideration. Several questions. (1) is it good - I think so. (2) I believe there are classifications of JMME just like Juncker, J1-J2-J3; what version is this one and why?, (3) I heard that this maker is not so common - is that true?, (4) how does this badge rate for this maker? (5) Should it be JMME or IMME? Which is technically correct? Sure looks like a "J" on the MM.
    Thanks, Richard

One reason I have never posted this badge as I cannot get a decent photo of the reverse - still can't.

            Richard,
Technically it’s a Juncker parts piece. J3 eagle on a J2 wreath. The maker (JMME), mark although lightly struck, looks correct and the reverse setup is as it should be.

                Jmme

As John has already said the badge is made up of Juncker parts, J3 eagle on a J2 wreath. Nice badge.

                Best regards,

                  I or J in Imme

                  Hi Richard,
As far as I have understood it, the company was called "Imme & Sohn", thus the family name was "Imme" with an "I". However, in official German (printed) writing (at that time) the capital letter "I" very much resembled a "J". Imme apparently had maker stamps with both "Imme" and "Jmme", and I have seen theories of that one variant was used pre-/early-war and the other later in the war. Those of you who have first-hand info on this are welcome to correct me!
                  Cheers,
                  Mikael G

PS. That's for sure a sweet little birdie you have there...! DS

"I" and "J" used to be pretty much interchagable in the german language. Badges can be found with both variaties and are both OK.
As JTW already mentioned. J3 eagle on a J2 wreath.

The case shown is a nice original.
