    I could find nothing on the forun on the cased NSFK National Fying Competition award with award document dated 1938. I would guess fairly rare by maybe not worth so much as it is not a combat award. Any ideas on this? Fairly obscure I would think. Appreciate a value as I can find nothing at al on this award other than what is in the Angola reference. Condition - very fine. Cannnot be a lot floating around out there. Any help appreciated. Richard

    By the way - we are all humbled my Mr. Millers incredible collection. I wish he hadn't shown it as there is no way any of us can get there from here! Love to see them one day. Best of show. Incredible. It would be hard to put a collection like that together in this day.

      I am the one here humbled by your kind comments. There are some other Members here on the Forum, which, over the years I have established good friendships with. They come from around the world, but we all speak the same language, our desire to gain knowledge and build solid collections around the same common interest. Some of these collections shadow my basic contributions.

      I am glad that you, and other knowledgable established collectors can appreciate what I have presented over the last six years here on the Forum. I have always tried very hard to buy the best possible representative pieces, often costing me dearly. A couple have gotten away, and for that I kick myself. (There are still a few elusive ones flying around, up there!) But I am proud of what I have amassed, as we are all proud of what we have worked many a 40 hour week for!

      Maybe some day they'll be in a book.

            Hello,


            Thank you for showing us that very nice table medal. Not that much arround but also as far as i know not that much collected at this very point.

            They are nice however and i do like these very much, and the fact that quite a few of my beloved glider pilots had one of these for their pre war merits is also not that strange i suppose.

            This piece did belong towards :

            Paffrath Reinhard

            He was a member during the war from the so called Luftlande units (either as a glider or as something else (could be pilot, etc ... etc ... ) as that is not confirmed towards me at this very point. )

            R.Paffrath did die on 1987.

            I do not have any birth date, etc ... but hopefully i was able to give you a bit of unknown info on the former holder.
