    Assmann Pilot badge

    Hi Guys!
The badge itself I am sure is good although I question the maker mark. Please let me know your expert opinions
    Thanks!

Where's the beef? (Fairly uncommon badge so full pictures would be nice.)

All kidding aside...from what I can see it looks like a nice early Assmann. Unfortunately, the only other early Assmann picture I have is unmarked, so it is hard to say about the maker mark on yours.

Please post more pics of the badge, front and rear and if you can the catch in profile and the hinge.

It would also be useful to provide dimensions and weight.

I agree with Lorenzo. I think we can safely say that, even from these pix, this is a ‘nice early Assmann’.
However, the maker mark, Imo, has been post war applied. Not only is it the wrong font type, it’s been placed in the wrong position for this early series.

I think this is what was trying to be replicated on your piece. This is a pic of a late war Assmann with the "A" in the center of the eagle.

                    Thank you guys!
Unfortunately these are the only pictures I have. A friend bought a collection and this is one of the items I was, sort of, after.
                    Thanks!

Maybe it's the photos but the hinge and rivets do not look correct to me.

                        Thanks Rich!
If I can get better pictures I will post them, otherwise I will pass on this piece.
                        Thanks again!

Bob, can you get a straight on full size shot of obverse/revers and post them. It looks good but strange. Mark is definatly way out there.

John, that Assmann marked wreath bird has me real jelous.

                            Hi Skip!
I have asked for one but his photographic skills are not much better than mine. I am working on it though.
                            Thanks!
