    Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge, help needed!

    Hi Guys!

    Got this one, and it******180;s repaired, but is a good or bad one?

    Is the needle and hook okay, or are they repro?


    Sorry for the bad pics, hope you can help me.....

        Maybe an original badge; I like the flaking to the finish on the swaz, and on portions of the reverse. But the hinge, pin, and catch are certainly not like any 3R era hardware I have seen.

        At first glance, an original badge that was repaired rather recently.

        That's my guess.

          Thanks for you input, I was thinking the same, the bagde feels good, but the hinge, pin and catch seems to have been replaced and repaird recently.

          I didnĀ“t pay much for it, but it displays nicely.

          Always looking for more opinions.....so where are you other guys?

            That is an interesting piece.

            It looks to me like the badge is okay but that the hinge and catch are maybe a repaired set-up, because if you look closely the solder looks like it was put on then ground down with a tool to make it neater.

            That is just an opinion...maybe if you look at it with a loop you can see if that is a possiblity.

              and if you go to conservation and safe keeping and look for doctor love he can put that badge right for you it looks to me like a kid got is MIT's on it
