I have two cased Junckers and because of this thread I took a hard look and believe one to be a J2 and the other a J3 if I understand the classification correctly. Hopefully I have tagged this as a J2 correctly.

          J2 Pilots Badge

That's definitely a nice J2. The two main distinguishing characteristics which can be used as a very quick reference guide are 1. the feathers on the right wing as you view the obverse are considerably longer than those of a J3 and 2. again when viewing the obverse, if you look closely at the wreath immediately left of the three vertical bars in the first segment of the laurel leaf is a small figure eight like blemish which lies horizontaly. This mark does not appear on a standard J3 wreath.

          Best regards,

Nice looking badge. I really do like the J2 they're muscular and robust!

                Regards,
