I have a huge apology to make to you. Following your post I went and checked the double maker marked badge just to be sure that I was correct and bugger me it does say SW 68. The badge is definitely made from Juncker parts and has all the usual characteristics associated with a J2 badge. But this revelation has completely thrown me (I'm shocked and stunned to say the least). Anybody got any thoughts?
Good bloody eyesight Van, I've this piece in my collection for a couple of years. Time to invest in a new pair of bins - blind as a bloody bat!
LOL... No appoligies needed, some information that has been around for a while is really now comming to light, we are having a good discussion at this post http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=93622
about a couple of badges, an IAB that is also double maker marked from two different makers and a WB that is maker marked but carries a different pin and catch of a different maker. So our discussion has been did these two makers work together or provide dies or parts to one another and so on...Your badge deffinatly fits in as that the eagles on the Junker and IMME/JMME are one in the same also.. and then to see your badge just KAPOWED me....
I really think this is an eye opener for a lot of people in that some previous badges thought to be fake or post war put togethers might infact be war time originals.
Thanks for all the posts on the badges ppl, please keep them comming.
awesome studying here.
Van
PS.. if that double marked badge gets voted down Ill buy it from you for $100.00 bucks..lol...
