LW Flak & Wireless badges. Opinions?

Here I am, confused again. I live this way! My gut feeling was that the both of these were bogus. I read up on the Brehmer LW Flak badge and I still don't like the detail but I'm just not sure. This post on the forum from Lorenzo is helpful but doesn't confirm it for me.

The Deumer LW Wireless badge I didn't like at first look but it's just like ones found on a couple of dealers sites (I'll leave links and names out except where it's forum related.
Here are links to pics of my two badges. What do you guys think?

    THANKS!

    Hi,

The Flak is definitely a known fake, maker mark wrong (too wide), eagle design wrong (wrong maker). These are the two main factors to recognize it by.

The Deumer has some potential but there are very good castings of those and the eagle reverse looks suspicious. Try and see whether the eagle is a seperate piece and whether the rivets, hinge and catch are seperate as well.
    Cheers, Frank

Thanks! The eagle is seperatly applied to the wreath. The pin & catch appear to be seperatly applied.

Might I borrow the Flak for my upcoming Flak book?
        Thanks!

              Hi Andrew.
The Flak you show is the fake. Attached is a picture of an authentic Brehmer Flak badge for your files. Following is a picture of a fake which is the same as the one you show, The fakes are well-made and have fooled a lot of collectors, but if you study the design and features of the authentic badge then you will see the differences.

              Good luck in your hunting.

that Brehmer fake is so good, it tripped up a certain English dealer at least 8 times...

                  cough cough...

sarcasm aside, are there Deumer flight engineer badges being faked where they have copied the catch design correctly? It was always easy enough to ID these birds because of the distinctive catch and hinge hardware.

Yes, Mark, there is a casting of a Deumer that has everything right, but only if you would look at it in a "sales photo." If you have it in hand you see that actually the WHOLE thing (except for the pin) was cast in one piece. Remarkably well done.
                    Cheers, Frank
