    Assmann Observer Badge

    Hello, members.

I just wanted to show off one of my newest additions. I got this one from Kai Winkler. I really like these Assmann Observer badges. Just can't have enough of them.

Very nice Robert - It still retains a nice finish to the wreath. I love the scowl on Assmann Observers Eagles!

        HI Robert,

Nice Badge!!! I had asked Kai to hold this one for me and then had to pass as I recieved confirmation on the OM pilot badge. Your piece is a real sweetie. Congrats!!.

          Another Assmann Observer

          Robert,

Again, nice badge and I agree the Assmann eagle is very detailed and has a nice look to it, but the wreath details just don't compare to other makers IMO.

Okay, now for the question; what is the difference between the two maker's marks and which one is the earlier version?

            Reverse

Notice the mark is raised and not impressed like yours (Robert's).

                Dear Tim,

We had that discussion about the raised vs. the imprinted logo on Assmann Beobachters in an earlier thread recently.

Logic implies that the imprinted (stamped in) one is earlier than the raised one (in the die).

It would be rather be "let´s make production easier by integrating the mark into the die"

                than

"let´s change the die and get rid of the mark in there and stamp our badges instead".

Just my thoughts, does it sound ok?

                Cheers, Frank

They're my favorite also, Tony. Thanks.

Tim, beautiful piece, nice wreath. Concerning the maker mark, the earlier thread dealing with variations in the Assmann maker mark is titled, 'Early maker mark variations, Assmann?' The input from the members really opened my eyes to which badges were the earliest.

                    Thank you, everyone.

                    Robert

                      Thanks guys

Yes, I remember reading it not too long ago, but just didn't remember seeing the final resolution. I'll go back to look at it.

Frank, yes makes perfect sense to me as well.
