    C. E. Juncker Type II - new acquisition

Guys, I just got this excellent CE Juncker Type 2 Pilot's badge from Joseph D'Errico (thanks Joe!!). What do you guys think?

Some points of interest are the domed rivets (as opposed to the cup-cake ones) and the factory-original deformity of the metal next to the catch.

                      Hi Yuri,

This is very interesting to me. The hinge, rivets and reverse of the wreath look like most J3's. Even the pin is pointed, which is not usually found on a J2. Also seems to be nickel rather than tombak.
I would guess that this is one of the latest J2's made.

                      Thanks for sharing,
                      Tim

                        Hi Yuri,
I've had this one in my hands while Joe owned it - I told him I thought it was a J2 adler on a J3 wreath - Probably using up the existing stock of J2 eagles! Nice badge none the less!

This badge does not have a J3 wreath. Please take a look at my J3 for comparison.

                            Hi Yuri,

                            very nice conditions!

yes, sure 2nd pattern and sure one of the last of 2nd made, reverse finished with 3rd type.

In fact, if you had occasion to read Eric's thread:

"New Addition: 3rd Type Juncker Pilot"

of some days ago, I wrote in this thread that Eric's badge was one of the first 3rd type and my supposition in both threads - this and Eric's- is confirm from finished of this your new badge, both badges were finished from the same workman - or department - ( look the strikes too into wreath near hinge, are exactly the same!!) in a time that cannot be weeks between the 2 badges.

with comparison of these 2 badges we have the knowledges of the continuation of building of Juncker's pilot between 2nd and 3rd type.

                            .... do you agree ........?
