      Hi

and thanks again for posting There are some lovely (indeed) earliest types out there I would love to get my hands on, who knows maybe someday. I (and others I guess) have already learnt lots of new things from you all on this thread, hopefully more to come.

      regards,

      DJ

I remember when this early Juncker type was considered a fake.
Looks like Yuri and Lorenzo Brown are eating crow now.

These early birds are very rare, so such a discussion is normal (IMHO)....I was on the same track a while ago ....

Facts are: Junckers 1style badges have provenance in wartime postcards (a lot of other bagdes not!) and some can be direct linked to the wearer.
Btw, Neil H. has a fantastic named badge of a General Göring Regiment member (+documents of this soldier).

That Badge is in Eric`s Collection now .
Sadly Neil had to sell some of His excellent LW Badges .
But I think thay all have gone to other seriouse Collectors .

Yes, I was fortunate enough to acquire this Regiment General Göring Grouping from Neil. Here is the 1st pattern badge from this group, complete with inscription to the Fallschirmjäger Johann Heitkamp.

Here's another early bird, a hybrid - 2nd pattern eagle on a 1st pattern wreath.

                      Another interesting variation - a 2nd pattern eagle on a J2 wreath.

                            Hi Eric S.

Those are very nice! I did not know the 2nd eagle existed on the 1st pattern wreath, so it's the first time for me to see one, thanks.

These I feel are in good hands.

                            regards,

                            DJ

                              Beautiful badges Eric.

The named example, along with your others are truly spectacular.

I took the liberty of making a wreath comparison composite with your last two postings just to illustrate the differences between the patterns.
