Pilots badge info needed please !!!!

Hi guys I am willing to sell this very small lot of a fighter pilot on e-stand who was shot down above the Channel in 1942 and I would like to get a fair price on the pilots badge!! Could anyone help me with the value!!! I thought it would be around 700 euro but I could be wrong!!!
    Let me know, thanks Kevin

hi Kevin, That is a GWL pilot/observer badge not just a pilot. Now it is not in the best condition but does have provenance so I would say that 700.00 euroes is way low. Probably closer to 2000.00 euros. best wishes,
          jeff

Did the badge belong to the guy in the photo?
I may be completely offline here but his collar tabs look more like flak to me?

Thanks Jeff for your honesty!!! I did not know the value at all!!! I will probably try and sell it then for around 2000 euro!!! It originally came with a visor but it was stolen at the Ciney show about a year ago!!!

Hi Adrian, I got the picture, pilots badge, a copy of the familienstammbuch (original still in family), and visor cap all together as a present directly from the family!! Her sister was married to this pilot!!! It is Kurt Kr******251;ger for sure as I have seen other pics that are still in family but does that explain the collar tabs?

                Sincerely

                  Kevin,

Very nice, but you'd better check the color around the pin and hinge. If it's silver and not gold, it's most likely a pilot's badge, not a P/O.

Do you have any unit info or details?

                  Tim

Tim is right. I am basing my value on a P/O rather than a pilot badge. I was looking at the reverse of the eagle which looks quite silver in color instead of the chocalate brown color of the pilot badge. If it turns out to be a pilot badge the value will be lower, say around 1100 euros. best wishes,
                    jeff

                      Hi Kevin,

IMO it's a GWL Pilot's badge and not a 'doppelabzeichen'.
As you know I had this badge in my hands a several times and I don't think there's any gold on the wreath...
But still it's a superb badge and a nice addition to any collection!!
