Here are some images with good details. I see the dimple in the rivets and, oh my gawd, can it be................... the swirls behind the makermark?

OOPS! I forgot. The Obverse image. Any naysayers? Fake badge? Refinished? Pilot badge turned P/O?

I gave this a thumbs up before, and seeing the better photos convinces more that this is the real deal. I'd be happy to have this bird in my collection!

What a world of difference these decent photos make. Now I´d revise my opinion and say its a nice looking original. Especially the swirls are nice.

Still one that I´m looking for.

While the new photos go a long way toward changing my opinion, I need a couple of things cleared up. First, in relation to the "traditionally" accepted GWL rivets, in my opinion these still fall somewhat short. Second, I've never seen the "bubble" in the bottom of the "dimple" before. Is this an acceptable variation?

                Hi Larry,

In my opinion, the dimension of the circumference of the rivet head recesses, and the depth to which they are cut, matches the good badges. The dimension of the head of the rivet, and the (color of the) metal used for the rivet matches. To me, the only thing different about this otherwise fine badge is that the guy tapping the rivets that day, couldn't find his center-punch. So he used a philips-head screwdriver and trashed the rivets.

                Just guessing?

                Regards,
                Mark
