    C'mon guys,

Don't be bashful. Opinions are fine. No one will be held accountable for their thoughts. For a starter, does anyone have one like it?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Hi Mark, What type of metal is it made out of? On the reverse where the finish is worn it looks like zinc underneath. However, the set up is for a buntmetal badge.
      best wishes,

the wear on the reverse seems very familiar.

Lorenzo might have pictures of badges that came out of Florida with wear like this....

            Hi Mark,

Yes it does. Kind of like that old familiar smell eminating from the bottom of the shoe, after a walk in the park .

Funny though, 4 or 5 years ago I posted this badge. It received good reviews. I have always been sceptical. The wreath is so thin and 'dinky'.

Florida??? Is that near Berlin 68, or Wien????

            Thanks,
            Mark

              Hi Mark,

well I guess you guys are pretty sure its a copy. Its a gtood one though.
That eagle does******180;nt seem very detailed, any chance of a large scan of just the eagle?

Likes already been said, buntmetal setup and what looks like zinc under the wear. Also that pin looks mighty thick. I guess the diameter of the hinge tube is also pretty thick. They did a good job on the rivets though.

Do you think they copied this from a Juncker?

Imo the neither the eagle nor the wreath match Juncker but they do match BSW.

I can easily measure the wreath and wingtips. I bet they come up about 10% under what they should be. Can anyone measure and provide accurate BSW specs? I agree also, it may just be the small size of the wreath, but the hinge-tube diameter looks way too large.

I have to agree about the extra large size of the hinge tube diameter. As far as the eagle details the body feathers look weak and the wing feathers look pretty good. Overall, one I would pass on. best wishes,

                      Jeff,

Yes, I would (IF I COULD) pass on this one too! Problem is ....... I have owned it for years. The son-of-a-bittch that sold it to me also shipped me the Fake Retired Pilots Badge, the one with the top arm on the J.

What a deal for me, eh ......... .

Live and learn. That mistake cost me (by today's standards) a mint cased GWL Pilots Badge.

Appreciate (I think?) the bad news confirmation. Now, what to do with this badge.

This looks like the old "Tucker" finish on the reverse.

                          Yuri,

Heh heh heh! Absolutely correct! Mark S. noticed that familiar 'look' too.

I am sorry to hear that Mark. I remember a couple of years ago when Steve Wolfe told me some of my treasures were "pure crap" Well, at least I was able to bring them back to the dealer and he gave me all my $ back. I resolved to not let that happen again, and thats why some of the guys on this forum have been so helpful to me when a second opinion is needed, including you Mark . Look at it this way, in a few more years you will have only been out the price of a nice PAB.
                            best wishes,
