    Help with Flak Badges

    Hi friends,

I´m considering to buy one of these two LW Flak Badges. I must to confess that I´m astonished with some fakes that have been shown here, so I decided to ask for your help.

Please, let me know what you think about these two.

    Wishes,

    Douglas.

Well, since I am working on the Flak badge book, I guess I better get these right or Frank will smack my behind!

The first one looks like a very nice S&L with one of the variant catch's I have been looking for. I would like to see a better shot of the catch, and maybe use it in the book if you buy it.

The second is an FLL with an Assmann marking. I need to see the catch a little better, but she screams FLL at me. Why the Assmann marking? Maybe it is bad - can't tell from that pic. Maybe it is Assmann buying up FLL stocks to fill a shortage. If it is a variant catch to the standard FLL I might be interested in this one as well.

                Best,
                Marc

                  Hi Marc,

There have been more badges found by "the unknown maker" with an Assmann mark, although the possibility for "unknown maker" being Assmann is impossible. I am referring to a para badge by this maker with an Assmann mark. Apart from these Assmann marks, several other marks have been found on badges by this maker, some illegible ones included.
This is the Assmann marked para of the "unknown maker" that is more likely FLL than anything else:

                        Marc and Frank,

Thanks for your assistance. I will try to pick up the first one, identified as a S&L. Marc, I´ll let you know if I get it in case you decide to use it in your book.

                        All the best,

                        Douglas.
