    Latest PO arrival

This little birdie arrived yesterday. Of all the J1 POs and PBs in my collection and of other examples elsewhere this has to be the most vaulted example I've seen. The rivets have been reworked but its a nice piece all the same.

            Terrific Looking Badge Tim!

That eagle certainly looks very vaulted, you can't even see the details of the

left wing from a straight on shot! Great Piece!!!

Do you think you could please take a side shot to let us see the degree of

            vaulting?

Congratulations on a Very nice pick-up!

            Regards, Ron

Nice badge! Any chance of a close-up of the Juncker mark?

The badge appears to be mint, and unissued. Any clue as to why the rivets were re-worked?

                        PO badge

                        Scott

Believe you me the badge isn't mint. The badge has unfortunately been cleaned, coupled with this the shot was taken in bright sunshine which has enhanced the image overall.

                        Regards,

                          Juncker PO

                          Hi Tim

Really interesting badge as I have a J1 PO just like it, but with the "cut out" between the legs. The reason I find it interesting is mine too has that brushed look on the back of the wreath as if it has been buffed. Mine appears to be fire gilding, as there is no real wear in any place which would indicate a less durable paint. Also the my eagle looks like it is nickel, same as yours, has great detail. I have the scan at work, so I must remember to post it tomorrow.

                          Cheers, Colin

                              PO badge

                              Hi Colin

Yes the finish is very interesting. The back of the wreath on this particular badge is almost identical to another PO badge in my collection which I was fortunate enough to purchase from Mike Heuer (a fellow Forum member), some time ago. Mike purchased the badge from Detlev and posted images here for discussion. The finish of the badge was a particular discussion point then. Other J1 POs in my collection (I posted a picture of my J1 collection under the "Collection" section yesterday), have a much richer gilding by comparrison, but as you have suggested the Eagle is nickel.

I look forward to seeing your example when you can get round to posting pics.

                              Regards,

                              Tim
