        Hi Mike,

Not sure I care for that Juncker makermark.

        Regards,

I am sure I do not care for that Juncker maker mark.

See this thread, same mark. You can also find it on fake Heer paras, fake Heer Flaks, fake Glider pilots, pilots, etc.
It is a well made series of fakes.

            Juncker Observer badge

Definitely not a genuine maker mark in my humble opinion.

i agree about the mark...what about the badge itself.....
my thinking is it might have been added.....the badge appears correct to me...
              thoughts?

                Mike,

The 'eyebrow' on your (Assmann) eagle does not compare to my badge. Your eyebrow almost looks 'cartoonish'. It is way too exagerrated. The claws and wing feathers lack detail. I don't care for the pointy pin either.

here are some additional pics..the hinge looks like a correct juncker to me..i agree the birds face is a bit strange...but the rivits look correct and the wreath i am sure is good...i see no direct evidence of casting...but .......

                            Mike,

I'm the 'bad cop' here. Now maybe some would explain the variations as workmanship........ but.... The catch isn't quite right, both in its design and its attachment to the wreath. I feel the same about the hinge.... it is a barrel yes, but it has a sloppy soldering job and is not mounted flush with the wreath. And as I previously mentioned, the pin is pointed. Any of these traits, in itself, is not cause for concern. But the cumulative effect points in the wrong direction.

The wear to the high spots of the eagle, and maybe it's just the image, look more grey (like zink) than they do nickel-silver, and most certainly, tombak.

All the reverse problems, combined with the design of the eagle, and the bogus makermark, just tell me no.

                            OK. Any 'good cops'?
