    Early Version Juncker Observer

    Hi Fellas,
I'd like to share my latest addition with you all. I'm extremely comfortable with it and feel it is completely original. Does anyone feel differently? It has the thinner wreath and weighs in at 28.7grams.

      Hi Eric,

Imo, a really nice 1st Pattern Juncker Observer - nice buy!

One question, the eagle looks like nickel-silver from wear on the high points, but there seems to be some brownish discolouration? Is that a lacquer or just age/tarnish? I don't think it detracts, just curious.

        Hi Mike,
It's actually remnants of it's original lacquer - good eye!

You sure the brown staining isnt nicotine?

Yes very nice badge and 100% originally.
Not wanting to detract from it but this badge is in top condition and hardly worn so why is the middle part of the hinge not black?
on all Junckers badges that I have seen, even well worn pieces the middle part of the pin has always been chemically blackened.
                  What do the profis think?

                      Dear Eric,

Very nice piece, you have to bring this one with you when you come to the restaurant for show and tell. Congrats on a nice piece, these are hard to find, as us fellow LW collectors swoop down on these ( no pun intended).

                      Best Regards,
                      JD

                          It's There

                          Hi Skip,
I have attached a pic of the underside of the badges hinge. The chemically blackened area is there completely intact.
The lack of color on the middle portion of the topside of the hinge tells me that this badge was at some point was actually worn on a tunic ( the color was simply worn off ). The pin also has traces of the blackened finish it once held also.

                              Hi Eric,

                              very nice observer you get!

this kind of badge I love very much!

the thined of the wreath is like mine- start little more bigger in the top and finish little more thin -?
