Erich, the face on the eagle is tryinig to be an Assmann with that big beak. The wreath is along the lines of a 2nd pattern Juncker but not right either, with a hinge from the "unkown maker". All in all, the sum of the parts add up to nothing I would want.

                Dear Erich,

I agree with Alan, this one stands no chance to be original.
                Cheers, Frank

Damm, this is all very depressing! I stopped collecting 31 years ago because of all the fakes then and only started up again a few years ago. An expensive lesson this has been. Well, since I joined this forum, at least I've made no bad buys. Once I found Tucker's book on Heer & KM badges I was able also to avoid many bad buys that on the surface looked good. Is there such a book that deals with Luftwaffe badges? I've not heard of one.
Again, thank you all for being the bearers of bad news - I'm sure no one likes to say it's a repro.

Erich, your collecting situation is much the same as many others here - including mine. With the great assistance of this web site, over the last year I have corrected many of the collecting 'wrongs' I've made in previous decades.

Tucker has planned to put out a Vol 2 on Luft awards, but am not exactly certain on a release date. While I consider Tucker's book an essential reference, use caution as it is not without some faults.

                    Best wishes.

                    Scott

                      Erich,

In your place I would******180;nt even bother to use the first volume. Not enough maker variants are shown and there are to many fakes of high end items mixed in.

Whenever you want to buy a badge just post it here beforehand, I******180;m sure you will find more than enough people willing to help.

Sorry to say , but you do have to admire the weathering.
