Hi Erich,
My opinion is that it is very hard to determine if you either have a fake or possibly a rare IMME ZINC pilot badge. I have never seen a ZINC IMME pilot badge before, so I do not really have something to compare. Compared to the TOMBAK IMME pilot badge, the obverse design is a match.
I think you could bring us one step further by determining if the material of the wreath looks and feels like ZINC to you. With a setup like that, this should be the case if it is possibly original.
If you can manage somehow, better pics, especially of the maker mark are really important.Cheers, Frank

Never saw one like this before also..
It seems like zink is shining through the finnish at the back of the wreath..
copper/messing hinge and catch..
It might be a good Imme and if,it's a nice one.
Like Frank says,a little bit more info would be better.
Better pic of the hinge,makermark..
BTW,in my case pic 2 is not loading..
Jos.

I******180;m wary.
Imme was making buntmetal badges using the J3 eagle and wreath.
Why the return to J2 for a zinc badge?
Rivets are not typical Immes
Can we see a side shot of the hinge please?
At the moment I don******180;t trust it even if it looks believable

Thank you all for taking the time to consider this pilot badge. I believe the wreath to be zinc as I compared it to some others that I know are zinc. Is there an easy test to determine zinc from tombak? I sending more shots of the hinge from both sides and one pretty clear MM.Last edited by Erich Krausse; 02-28-2007, 07:21 AM.
