Hard to photo the black wreath, trying a different lighting.

Very Nice! Iam wondering if that is a BN&L Wreath?

Nice badge! It is the wreath of the "unknown maker," although in this case the hinge gives you some hints who the maker might be. No connection to B&NL, as far as I am aware of.
                  Cheers, Frank

Thanks for the nice words guys! Frank I know you have mentioned FLL as a possible maker of the Unknown Maker badges. In looking through your book this hinge looks FLL like to me as well as the sloppy solder work. That reminds me of the FLL coastal arty. Also, in comparing this badge to my other Unknown maker buntmetal pilot and pilot/observer this wreath is much thicker, especially over the pilot. Is that normal for these? I know Neil Howes has one that looks just like mine except for the hinge, Hopefully he will let us know about the thickness of his wreath. best wishes,
                    jeff

Now that is one pretty minty badge Jeff.
Its a buntmetal eagle on a zinc wreath, right?

Would******180;nt it be great to find one of these with an FLL mark.

Yours looks believable Gerd. Ar******180;nt you going to show us the front?

Thanks Skip! the wreath is a white metal. No zinc on the badge. Just lots of solder. best wishes,
