What is it, is it real, and what's it worth?

    Hi Gents,
I'm completely out of my area on this one...Supposedly presented by Goring to Major Roer congratulating him for superior war results May 1943. Are these reproduced, and if so, what should I look for? What is an approximate value of such a piece? Thanks for your thoughts...

    Arran.

The Luftwaffe Salvor of Honor is highly reproduced. I would estimate that 95% of them, in collections, are post-war made in Great Britian.

The rarity is immense, if original, but the market is so flooded with excellent fakes that they are not the easiest items to sell.

You would have to post close up photos of the reverse details, the eagle's head, the engraving and the maker's mark.

Because most of them are fake, you will have a hard time finding a concensus on origanality. Detlev Niemann has some valuable expertise in the Salvor of Honor. You might want to have Detlev give an evaluation and expertise.
