              Hi Brian

Hmmm.................THAT is a very interesting example . I can see why some might be on the fence, but at the same time I feel my gut liking the piece. The wear and finish look good, not sure I care for the pin though especially that rust given the overall appearence of the rest of the badge. The finish on the swords is showing up darker than I presume it to be is that correct ??

Your saying the badge isn't zinc, is that correct ? or it is zinc and this is what you expect It looks zinc to me....? I'll wait to hear from you.

              Best,
              Joe

The pin is steel the badge is zinc. Personally, I like it too. As we know, zinc doesn't rust... Steel does...

                  Hi Brian

What I was suggesting is the pin has obviously been exposed to moisture of some kind and as a result has built up quite a bit of rust. I would just expect to see more deteriation to the brenlax finish. After all that pin has quite a bit of rust on it.

Back to the badge itself..........as I said I like it (at least my gut does) and would have a hard time saying the badge is a repop. The hinge and catch set-up as well as the character of the base metal and the fiinsh itself read right.

I would like to see some clearer/lightier pics of the swords...........if you feel like posting them.

                  Best,
                  Joe

                      Cheers, Ade.

                        Wow, that was quick

Yeah , I see no issues with the badge..............again though, I can see where it may raise some questions, but in the end I think the badge stands on it's own.

                        Best,
                        Joe

PS Thanks for the additional pics

All I see is L/58 and the Souval catch.

                          Cheers, Ade.

I'm with Ade,it has the typical catch which can be found on all Souval fakes..
