    My opinion,

the badge looks like an authentic one, the finish does not.

IMO this was a normal pilots badge. Somebody removed the eagle, gold plated the wreath, silver plated the eagle and then put it back together again. Rivets are pretty much the giveaway to me. Also the finish does not look "right"

I may be wrong or others disagree so better wait for some more opinions.

      Sasha,

Skip's assessment is pretty accurate. Definately an authentic badge, as judged by the Juncker makermark. The gold and silver finish is new. I wouldn't want that in my collection. But, I guess if someone wanted an original badge with a new 'tampered with' history, if the price was cheap, that would be the badge.

        Hi,

From the images, my first impressions are the same as Skip's (and Mark's). It looks tampered with and the patina looks artificial.

The rivets are not bronze/tombak in colour. Imo it is hard to imagine a badge with near pristine finish but replaced rivets without it having been tempered with.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

And then there is the possibility that the badge itself is a good casting. I do not care for the whole thing.
            Cheers, Frank

              Hi Guys,

Not trying to ride on Frank's assement, but I felt the same way when I first saw the badge.

              Best,

I'd vote for better pics first..

The pics are clear..sort off..,but not good..
All that has been said can be true.
Even maybe a casting, but 2 feathertips are touching eachother seen from the front, although they're seperated..,haven't seen that that much with castings.

                Hmm..,

                Jos.
