I know it is not pretty, but I have a Letter to an Oberfeldw Wegerer, that says he is:
Er ist höheren Ortes zum Lw.-Erdkampfabzeichen eingereicht.

And the letter is dated the 05-03 1945, so I think that it would be a late war Lw.-Erdkampfabzeichen he would recieve.
I have his EK 2. document, and the EK , and a congratulation letter from his "Oberst und Kommandeur"

Thanks for the replyes. And yes, you are all spot on. It is not nice looking, at all

I will try to grap it. It is for sale on a danish auction house, and the price right now are 61 €. I do not think that it is expensive, but we will see where the price will end.
