I borrowed (ahem) these pics from another forum. This ground assault looks pretty convincing to me and also exhibits this unique setup but has a B&N L stamp. What do you think?

Hi Patrick. I put this topic into a separate thread.
This badge is new to me. The hinge and catch are not typical for B&NL zinc badges. Also the mark looks a little off, but would have to see larger pictures of the mark. The large bubbling looks suspicious. Eagle details do not look good.
For now I would say "No". Welcome more opinions.Visit my Badge Collection: http://lbmilitaria.homestead.com/home.html

Hi,
I'm unsure on this one but lean towards it being OK. The large and different sized bubbling I don't have a problem with (always thought this was a good sign actually!). The same with the weak "streaking" to the finish on the reverse. The elongate rounded hingeplate/hinge and catch/catchplate seems familiar - I seem to recall some other badges (I think LW Glider and Ground Assault among others) discussed recently with similar assemblies. The reverse edges are sharp/crisp - it's not a casting imo, or at least not a poor casting. The maker mark I definitely don't like though - possibly a post-war add-on. The missing riveted eagle doesn't help and from the images it's too hard to judge the "black" finish.

Hi Guys,
My gut feeling would also give this badge tumbs up but then I remembered this older thread where Frank was well on his way linking this type of set-up to S&L
http://www.wehrmacht-awards.net/foru...633#post922633
Seeing this badge with a B&NL mm for sure confuses things a lot and I really don't know what to think anymore.
