    Assmann Flak

    Hello Guys
Can I ask for some opinions on this LUft flak badge maker marked "A" for Assmann. The swaz looks like it broke off at some point and has been put back on, see pics.
    Any help appreciated.

Reverse image, has the pin been replaced too? And that is a new flat wire catch maybe?

Colin, I'm not an expert but I don't like the pitting on the back. Looks like a cast badge to me.

            Hi Don,

Very likely but than it is a casting made from a repaired badge wouldn't you agree?

There is no difference what so ever between the material this badge is made of and the repair. Strange isn't it?

Thanks for replies on this, it is a strange bird indeed, I would guestimate the whole badge has been put together then chemically blued because the bluing seems to be consistant on every component.
              Thanks again

Indeed Philippe. It looks even stranger now that I am home using my desktop computer.

                  Morning Don,

It indeed is one of the most bizar cast copies I have ever seen. As far as I know the only copie that took a repaired badge to start from

                  Here is another one.
