    Air Gunner

Good or bad? A friend asked me to post this for him. Personally I am not a fan of it, but an opinion of the badge guys may be a good thing.

The catch seems really long and the needle leaves the hinge with a big loop as well.

        Chris,

Its a good ún IMO. Looks like its seen some cleaning though(might just be the pic). Long hinge and ? catch are typical BSW, as is the wreath and eagle.

          Hi Chris,

Seems to have the correct hinge/pin/catch and rivets for an earlier genuine BSW badge. Detail on the obverse looks good and no real indications of casting of the edges. The form of the maker mark appears correct from a distance. I don't really see a problem with it.

            Dear Chris,

I am with Skip and Mike, everything seems to be correct for a BSW!
            Cheers, Frank

What bugged me is the long stem on the hook and the fact that the needle goes so high at the hinge.
Oh well, I guess I learn a bit every day.

              All the best
              Chris

These weird catches and the high pin at hinge are not too unusual for BSW RO/AG badges in Tombak, Chris. I agree it is a rarely seen and weird badge but very desirable to have.
                Cheers, Frank

Also the rivets are correct for an early BSW badge.

                    Agree with S, M, F & Y.

Here's one to compare it to. Even with my straight-on reverse scan, the tall sitting catch is unmistakable.
