Unmarked Pilot's Badge with an "L" number

I just found a web site selling an unmarked zinc Pilot's Badge with an "L" number on the reverse of the eagle. When I asked the seller to tell me what the "L" number is, he said that it was too faded for him to read. I've included the link below so that a member can perhaps buy this badge and discern what "L" number is on the badge, so this mysery can finally be solved.

    Here's the link:

    Yuri,

I live about 20 minutes from this guy's shop. If someone is really serious about the badge, I could swing by and have a look..... If the little lady doesn't have other plans for me, that is.

      Mark,

Please if you can!!! This could really be interesting. Don't forget your 10X magnifying glass.

Hi Mark, I would be very interested as well to find out what number that is! This could be one of the best discoveries in a long while if it is a genuine mark.

I wouldn't get too excited.. With so many of these "Unknown" maker PB's being post war maker marked, I think It will turn out to be yet another one. The last example of an L/ numbered badge was stamped L/12. Other marks found.. Osang, C.E Juncker, Assmann.
I seem to remember that Detlev had an example of one of these post war marked badges in his update, and was described as such.
                    Warmest Regards ... John

Well, as of Friday night, he hasn't returned my email, and no answer to the telephone. I'll keep trying.

Since we are on the topic....

What is general opinion of the Juncker Pilots Badge and case? I asked for better pictures but they've not arrived. Any opinions on the item and price?

                        Thanks.

                        $1700.

Just had a look at the unmarked zink Pilot's Badge. Even with a 15X loupe, I could not make out a definitive L/ number. After looking closely at the mark, I almost wonder if someone attempted to add the L/ after the fact. By the way, the faint marking is inside a rectangular box, along the lines of a 'CEJ'.

Sorry guys, the great mystery remains, as such.
