    Minesweeper Badge Opinions

Hello members. I have had a request from a member to have this minesweeper badge posted for review. As can be seen, it is worn but not abused, tomback , Schwerin version. Comments appreciated.
    Best,
    Garry

      Hi Garry,
No problems here. Nice tombak Schwerin Minesweeper badge Worn and it also looks slightly hand woulted by the sailor.
      Cheers,
      Hubert

It's a good worn original tombak Schwerin.

So it's been sort of shaped, bent by the sailor who would of worn it? Why do they do this ?

Sailors used to vault their badges in order to make them better fit the uniform which was important in combat/service conditions on the ship. It was quite common practice.

                      Hubert

I thought I would include these pictures to illustrate the appearance of the slightly "vaulted" and one that is not. The first picture is the vaulted one and the second is not.
                            Hope this helps.
