Well Mücke, you do come up with some very nice items. Although the U-boat badge has been cleaned along the way, see attached images of a more typical example, they are fairly scarce and since you example has the sailor's name engraved, a most interesting artifact. Makes up for the polish I think especially when combined with the emblem, as you say, extremely rare if such an emblem has provenance. Most do not.

The SB Aux. Cruiser you just sold was one of the nicest I have seen in a very long time at a very reasonable price. Much lower than a dealer I would say and a good deal for whoever bought it.

Hello Mücke,

I have a U-453 emblem in my collection, from a member of the first crew. He was on board from 26/06/41 to 31/05/43.
The two models are different. Is yours have a stamp (maker) on the back side ?

Helmut Vogelsand was on the U-453 from 25/11/42 (7th patrol) until the end.
