I have came across Coastal Artillery Badge made by Schwerin and I would kindly ask you about second opinion on this badge if in your opinion is authentic or this is copy ?

Hi NewIreland,

Looks like an original but horribly abused Schwerin Coastal Artillery badge. Possibly hammer vaulted by it's original owner in wartime and the tip of the main pin cut off, and then punitively denazified post-war -- but not in a way that would allow ongoing wear.

Wow! What a mess, although original as Norm says. It was hammered so much that most of the 'Schwerin Berlin' has been eradicated.

I agree, original tombak Schwerin CAB that had very hard life.

Also, it looks like the swastika may have been snipped off and then at some point a crude attempt made to re-nazify the badge?

Buy it if it is dirt cheap (10-15 euro's) If not don't bother because it is not worth it
