    My Auxiliary Cruiser fleet

    Hi Guys,
I will post in this thread my Auxiliary cruiser badges. Enjoy

First one is unmarked zincer attributed to F&B. It features round wire pin setup with sheet metal hinge and round wire, c-shaped catch on round base plate. Condition is very good for the zincer although the gilt has faded a bit on the obverse.

    Cheers,
    Hubert

Zinc FO marked Auxiliary Cruiser. Maker: Friedrich Orth, Vienna. Condition also very nice for the zincer. It features round wire pin setup with sheet metal hinge and round wire, ?-mark catch without base plate. Most of the gilt has faded which is common for this maker.
    Cheers,
    Hubert

Unmarked zinc S&L. Wartime compatible variant with wartime 1st globe type. It features round wire pin setup with sheet metal hinge and round wire, ?-mark catch without base plate. The catch here is original IMO but there is a risk it could be reattached since there is no gilt on the solder around the catch. S&Ls are the most common of all ACs but this variant is not easy to find.
          Cheers,
          Hubert

Some great looking badges there Hubert.

I never did get one of those S&L variants with the round wire "?" type catch.

But i have enough of these little buggers.

                  Cheers,Martin.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks Tom Yes indeed, the Orth is realy nice since almost all of them have the gilt faded to olive grey and mine still has some gold finish left.
                        Cheers,
