Awards of the navy (Kriegsmarine)really aren't my area.

But in my opinion both pieces are O.K..

But as said I am not an expert at these awards.

first one is a F&B Aux cruiser and original. Second one is a Blockade Breaker in zinc from Schwerin and also IMO authentic. If you buy them depends on the price, condition is ok but not amazing.

KM Badges

Hi Alex,
Both pieces are OK, the only problem I have with them is condition, not the way I personally like my KM stuff. I also think the prices are a little too high for items in this condition.

I have seen nice Blockade badges in the $400 range, and the Auxiliary Cruiser while a hot item now can be obtain in nicer condition for a couple of hundred more. The Auxiliary Cruiser badge is in OK shape (but not great), and you could probably turn it if you have to.

Here is a bit of advice, when you buy you should always consider, if need be can I sell these items or will I be stuck with them? I am afraid, that badges in that type of condition, would not appeal to the hardcore badge collector. In my opinion, badges like the Blockade Runner in that type of shape is more of a filler than anything and not at that price.

Just my .02 cents.

KM Badges

Hi Alex,
Being in a hurry can hurt a collector. For example, it has taken me over 25 years to collect all of the KM badges by Schwerin (only) and I am still missing two of them. Although I have more patience than most.

Look at the dealer sites, E-stand (which is great), etc. They will come your way. If you are going to invest hard earned money patience is the key. Being to quick to spend can buy you either a fake or something in poor condition.

Like Jody says. way to expensive in that condition. I would´nt give any more than 250 for the Aux Cruiser. BB from Schwerin in much better condition than that I have sold for 220Euro.
Better wait for nicer ones to come along.
