Wow, good spot. Have not seen a repair quite like this before.

Here's a similarly masterful restoration of an A.S. S-Boat badge by Michael Friedrichs. It's a little easier to spot because the toes of the eagle project further down on the swastika in the 2nd pattern S-Boat so they had to be trimmed off in the restoration.
