Unmarked blockade runner badge

Greetings : I have this UNMARKED blockade runner badge and lapel pin that came as a set. I plan on" moving it "and believe it's good but want to be CERTAIN of it's authenticity as badges are not my strong point. Thank you for all replies and information.

Hi Zeke,

The mini looks like a good A.G.M.u.K., Gablonz piece. The full-size badge however is post-war, very possibly an S&L from the 1960's. The obverse design is the same as S&L's wartime badge but with a flaw in the lower margin and different internal cutouts, while the reverse hardware is like their '57 production (Rüdiger's '57 example attached).

Hi Zeke,

Another consideration is Souval. Even though the obverse design is S&L's and not Souval's wartime design, there was some association between Souval and S&L circa 1960's whereby Souval marketed a Blockade Breaker of S&L's design but stamped L/58 (see attached). It probably made more sense for swastika-bearing badges to be marketed through Souval in Vienna than S&L in Lüdenscheid regardless of where the tooling originated.

As Norm has said L/58 marked BR is postwar badge.
