High Seas Fleet Badge - estand

I thought these were suppose to have 5 windows showing on the bridge - it shows 4. I'm no expert on this type badge. What is the opinion here.

    Here is one similar.

      Hi Dallas,
There are some real Schwerin HSF with a partial window. That example is good and is different from the fake shown on Mr. Tucker's site.

Also..keep in mind the newest generation of Schwerin HSF fakes have corrected the 4 window issue and have 5 windows...

          Hi,

I agree, a genuine badge with an almost absent 5th window. Accurately described as used condition. An honest badge.

There are big differences between the 4-bridge window repro and genuine examples with the weak 5th window. Compare the form of the maker's mark for a start.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

Check the Schwerin HSF article on the association site, it's all explained there.

                Cheers,
                David.
At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'
