Definitely not an original. High Seas Fleet Badges by R.S.&S. should have a crimped-in ball hinge and a crimped-in catch.

        Best regards,

I also agree, it is one of the most common KM fakes
          Cheers,

            Andre,
There is actually one posted for sale today on the estand by belinda if you want a real one. If you want to look at some nice examples check out Ash12's HSF badges posted below.

                Hi Andre,

I can only agree with the others, a common fake.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

German Navy High Seas Fleet Badge

                  Hi,.
I have pictures of a High Seas Fleet Badge that I bought recently.
How can I upload pictures of it to this forum?
Was hoping all could help me classify and/or authenticate it.
                  Thanks,
                  Jim

                    Hi Jim,

Welcome to WAF. It's alway better to authenticate a badge before you buy it of course, but at any rate you will find lots of information to answer your questions here.

Here's the database thread with examples of Fleet badges from all makers:
                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...65#post2137065

Here's a comprehensive classification system for Fleet badges:
                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...26#post6511726

Here's the Fleet badge thread in the Fakes Gallery (accessible to paid members only):
                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=101993

If you still want to post photos of your badge for discussion you have three options:
                    1) Become a paid Association Member for $25 a year which gives you the ability to upload photos and to access the Members only forums.
                    2) Use an image hosting service to link photos of your badge into a message (A passable option but not so great if the images disappear and render the thread useless later on).
                    3) E-mail the photos to a WAF Association Member to post them for you.

                    Have fun with your research!

                    Best regards,
                    ---Norm
