my latest Schwerin U-boat badge with name

Hi guys, just bought a very nice Schwerin U-boat badge, there is a name scratched in: WILLIG or WITTIG

From U-boot waffe.net I had one match for Willig (U-106) and fifteen matches for Wittig.

Your opinion about the correct spelling of the name?

Hello Tom,

Looks like a nice badge, but with an unusual die flaw in the lower part of the wreath. Probably from excess material left in an uncleaned die. To me it looks like the name is "Wittig".

An honest example that has some crude features - I'd agree with Tom regarding debris in the die. For me, based on the patina of the scratching, I'd go for Willig.
